As part of our social mission we offer news and partnership content on an open, freely accessible basis. In addition, we have built the Pioneers Post Impact Library, a rich resource including hundreds of articles, videos, podcasts and special guides to help you do good business, better. As a subscriber, you can access this huge library of knowledge, insight and good practice from two decades of coverage of social enterprise and impact investment around the world (while you're supporting us as a social enterprise ourselves).
To access the Impact Library, you'll need to log in to your Pioneers Post account – or purchase a subscription to create one.

By taking out a subscription, not only will you be getting access to premium content that helps you do good business better, you'll also 'officially' join our growing worldwide community of mission-driven entrepreneurs. Plus, you'll be supporting our social enterprise: all contributions are being ploughed back into our independent news and storytelling platform, dedicated to cover social enterprise, impact investing and purpose-led business around the globe.
As a social enterprise, it is our intention to share the content we create and the learnings we collect as widely as possible. We do this by sharing all the news and partner-based content that we produce as ‘open source’ (free to view). Our news content stays free and open for one month, after which it goes into our ‘Impact Library’, which sits behind a paywall. In addition, we produce more in-depth content (eg practical, how-to-do-it features and interviews with leaders, etc) – again, this is normally offered openly for one month. In this way, our content can be shared widely but still provide an important resource for subscribers if they want to research a particular topic later.
Each week, we hand-pick a number of ‘hidden gems’ from our Impact Library to share through our newsletter and social media.
But, quality journalism doesn’t come for free – and we need your support to maintain our sustainability as a social enterprise, and so we need to bring in revenue. Some of this is from partnerships, training and events, but some is also from subscriptions. What we ask subscribers is slightly unusual, however, in that it is not simply transactional (ie you pay us to access stories that will help you increase your knowledge and understanding of social enterprise). Instead, we have a ‘Freemium’ model as follows:
a) Like many websites that are free to view, we nevertheless ask people to consider subscribing in order to maintain and fund our free and open journalism, supporting the value we create for them and for the social enterprise sector/impact economy.
b) Like many other media platforms, we also have a ‘paywall’, behind which subscribers can view additional content – we call this area our ‘Impact Library’. We are building this Impact Library as a key resource for the impact economy.
c) In addition, we also run what we call a ‘Robin Hood’ policy with our subscriptions. This means, in essence, that we charge less to the poor and more to the rich (basing subscription costs on turnover).
